Reaching 53.17 knots, she became the world's fastest superyacht in 1988
This original documentary produced by Heesen Yachts celebrates the story behind 44-metre aluminium motor yacht Octopussy. Built in 1988, and commissioned by American entrepreneur John Staluppi, she was the fastest superyacht in the world at the time with a handover speed of 53.17 knots.
The documentary explores the origins of the project, the challenges faced by the engineering team and charts the ultimate success of the visionary collaboration between Staluppi, designer Frank Mulder and Frans Heesen, the founder of Heesen Yachts.
Now named Octopussy 007, she was last refitted in 2017 and is currently listed for sale.
