As relevant for yacht racing as it is for the motorsports circuit, the high-tech TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 marks a new era of avant-garde watchmaking for the Swiss watchmaker.
Housed in an ultra-lightweight 41 mm black DLC-coated Grade-5 titanium case made using Selective Laser Melting, a state-of-the-art manufacturing technique adapted from the aerospace industry, the new addition boasts a striking, aerodynamic three-dimensional form, as if designed with speed and airflow in mind.

Weighing just 85 grams, even with a number of solid gold components, this masculine timepiece, limited to just 30 pieces, channels the extremely reductive design and manufacturing processes of the automotive and yacht racing worlds.
Within beats the watchmaker’s most complex chronograph movement, the Calibre TH81-00, a high-frequency automatic movement that equips the TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 with a rattrapante function, a sophisticated complication that allows a user to time two different events simultaneously.

Finished with a translucent sapphire dial that opens up the movement’s inner workings from above, DLC-coated chronograph pushers and crown, and golden hands and hour markers, the limited-edition release is presented on a sporty black rubber strap topped with Alcantara inserts and is fitted with a black DLC-coated titanium buckle.
