The new Lagoon 55 made its Asia-Pacific debut in Hong Kong recently, with yacht owners impressed with its size and detailing.

Asia-Pacific Boating was pleased to be attending the Lagoon 55 Asia-Pacific launch, held at Aberdeen Boat Club’s Middle Island facility, off southern Hong Long Island, and hosted by the brand’s regional dealership headquarters,  Simpson Marine, Hong Kong.

The roomy new model from the French catamaran brand, Lagoon, which is owned by the Benteau Group was presented alongside another popular smaller sibling model, the Lagoon 46. Both twin-hulled yachts are sailing cruisers.

With an exterior designed by Patrick le Quément and interior by Nauta Design the Lagoon 55 brings  a forward-thinking concept of liveability on board, with new a design that allows ease of passenger access and circulation that offers intuitive cabin-to-deck movement. Top-of-the-range finishes and fabrics have been used throughout.

The cockpit is very open, allowing full panoramic and unobstructed views, while the transoms have been designed not only for easier access, but also to become genuine additional living spaces.

A new signature coachroof and its raised bulwark giving the boar and elegant and slender profile.

Inside, large windows and two skylights in the saloon, the communal heart of on-board living space, were created to ‘bring the outdoors in’.

Three- to six-cabin configurations are possible.
