Simpson Marine has embarked on a new partnership with cryptocurrency payment platform Bitcashier, to allow the dealership to accept digital currencies for yacht sales and charters.

Simpson says the move ‘ushers in a new era of convenience and accessibility for luxury yacht enthusiasts’ and reflects its commitment to providing ‘exceptional services and staying at the forefront of the yachting industry’s ever-changing landscape.’

Bitcashier has made strides in revolutionising the global yachting industry by introducing cryptocurrency payments and working with many other yacht brokerage firms. The platform has forged partnerships worldwide, leveraging the benefits of digital currencies to streamline transactions with no volatility of price. By incorporating blockchain technology, Bitcashier says it ensures secure, efficient and transparent payment processing for both buyers and sellers in the yachting sector.

Simpson Marine says the process is designed to be seamless, user-friendly, and secure, catering to the growing demand for digital transactions.

Richard Allen, group general manager at Simpson Marine, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “We are excited to join forces with Bitcashier and embrace the future of cryptocurrency payments in the yachting industry. This collaboration allows us to offer our clients greater flexibility and convenience, expanding their options for purchasing or chartering a yacht. By being Bitcashier’s first partner in the Asia yachting scene, we are elevating the experience for our clients and staying at the forefront of innovation in our industry.”

Bitcashier’s merchant tools will allow the implementation of crypto payments on the Simpson Marine website, and customers will be presented with a list of cryptocurrencies from the range of options supported by Bitcashier once a yacht has been selected for purchase. This includes popular currencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), among others. Upon confirming the purchase or charter agreement, the client initiates the payment through Bitcashier‘s secure platform. The platform calculates the cryptocurrency exchange rate in real-time and generates a unique payment address for the transaction. Once the payment is successfully verified, Simpson Marine processes the transaction, finalising the sale or charter. The client can then enjoy their newly acquired yacht or embark on a charter experience.

“We are delighted to be chosen as the preferred cryptocurrency solutions partner for Simpson Marine, a highly respected, well-established company with deep roots in the marine industry in Asia Pacific,” says Giles Whitby-Smith, CEO of Bitcashier. “Bitcashier has a growing presence in Asia Pacific and is looking forward to providing the cryptocurrency transactional services to enable Simpson clients to use crypto to buy and charter yachts and services.”

Cryptocurrency payments can help eliminate barriers associated with traditional banking systems, enabling international clients to engage in yacht sales and charters without the limitations of traditional currencies.

In 2022, Camper & Nicholson began accepting cryptocurrencies for payment for goods and services worldwide. In November 2021, Asia Global Yachting partnered with Thailand’s leading digital asset exchange Bitkub to accept bitcoin and other crypto payments for all services, including sales and charter bookings worldwide. In January 2022, Ocean Independence, a leading superyacht charter and brokerage, announced that it will offer clients the option of cryptocurrency payment.
