Having explored the world, the imposing 500EXP superyacht will now remain in Asia.
The Sanlorenzo 500EXP explorer superyacht Ocean Dreamwalker III sailed back into Hong Kong in early January, following a five-year circumnavigation cruise.
The years-long trip featured in-depth stops in Alaska, the southern hemisphere, French Polynesia and New Zealand, before calling at Asia’s yachting gems, including Raja Ampat, Indonesia, and Palawan, the Philippines.
Ocean Dreamwalker III, delivered by Simpson Marine in 2018, was built by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo. It is the first hull in Sanlorenzo’s 500EXP superyacht series with e-motion electric propulsion. The 47m yacht can provide accommodation for up to 10 guests in five cabins.
The imposing exterior from renowned designer Francesco Paszkowski is designed to recall the profiles of large exploration yachts. This is achieved by keeping the aft deck clear for a helipad for an Airbus Helicopter H125.
On the lower deck is a beach club with a full wet bar, where guests can relax with a drink and enjoy being close to the ocean. Alternatively, this is the ideal place to access the large variety of water toys the vessel can carry. The beach club can also be converted into a storage garage, which can accommodate tenders of up to seven metres in length.
Despite the aft deck being dedicated helipad space, there is still plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors on board this luxurious yacht. On the upper deck, a jacuzzi is placed aft, with additional seating and sun loungers for guests to relax on.
The flybridge deck above features a heated swimming pool, with its aft position making it a perfect place to enjoy the water while taking in the surrounding views. Forward of this is a living and dining lounge area, where guests can gather to enjoy socializing and al fresco meals while simultaneously being sheltered by the hard top above.
Inside, the Sanlorenzo 500EXP is every bit as much a luxury yacht as an explorer. The interior décor showcases a blend of white and creams complemented by dark woodwork, creating an atmosphere of relaxed luxury.
On the upper deck, the wheelhouse is placed forward, with an aft living area featuring comfortable couches which look out onto the deck beyond large glass doors.
The main deck salon is home to an open-plan living and dining space, with an assortment of couches, armchairs and tables creating a wonderful area for guests to kick back and relax. Amidships is the formal indoor dining table, with the entire space filled with light thanks to the surrounding panoramic windows.
Having explored the world, the imposing 500EXP superyacht will now remain in Asia and cruise through some of the area’s most spectacular locations with its sky blue hull and red helicopter aft.
Since the yacht’s launch in 2018, Sanlorenzo has produced several explorer superyachts below 500GT, which the boatbuilder says makes world exploration more accessible to aspiring yacht owners.
Currently, 10 units of the 500EXP are cruising the world’s oceans, with two more currently under construction, as of January 2024.
