Greek dealership Ekka Yachts has sold the first unit of the new Sanlorenzo 1150EXP series, the largest Sanlorenzo explorer yacht to be commissioned to date.

The new 1150EXP will be an explorer prototype designed by Zuccon International Project. It will have a volume between 1,150 and 1,200 gross tons, measure over 60 metres in length, and have a beam of 11.2 metres.

The yacht will accommodate 14 guests in six to seven staterooms, while crew accommodation will be for 14-15 members.  The yacht’s design spans five decks, and the Italian boatbuilder has introduced a range of privacy features that have not been implemented on a Sanlorenzo superyacht before.

A glass elevator on the 1150EXP will connect four out of five decks, and the master suite will span the top two decks. The main deck will be dedicated to indoor/outdoor entertainment and formal dining.

Touch-and-go heli-landing capabilities will be offered on the bow deck and a recessed 7.5t. crane located aft will allow a large chase boat (over 10 metres) to be loaded onboard for long passages. All other toys (including a 7.5-metre main tender) can be stored in a garage in the bow section, below the helideck.

A full-scale beach club with opening terraces and a spa will be located on the lower deck aft, and a glass-bottom pool on the aft quarterdeck will provide additional natural light.

This is Ekka Yachts’ fourth metal superyacht order with Sanlorenzo in the last three years, including two 500EXP and one 44 Alloy. The owner’s team has previously commissioned a new-build superyacht with Sanlorenzo.

The yacht will be built to Lloyd’s class for commercial operation and offered for charters upon delivery. Ekka Yachts will collaborate with the experienced Greek owner’s team on project management.

“We are thrilled to have secured such an important order for Sanlorenzo, which marks our biggest new-build to date and Sanlorenzo’s biggest explorer yacht order ever,” says Dimitris Kyriazakos, managing director of Ekka Yachts.

“We are grateful to the commissioning owner for having entrusted our brokerage services for the second time, and for demonstrating vision and determination to embark on this project after months of commercial and technical negotiations with the builder.”

The Sanlorenzo superyacht division team and the owner’s in-house legal and technical teams conducted the sale. Clyde & Co and Watson Farley & Williams Greece assisted the parties in the yacht-building contract.
