The new 30m Riva 102 Corsaro Super, with its hardtop flybridge makes this model look more contemporary, sporty and open to the sea
While some of Italian Ferretti Group’s Riva range are open, low-slung and performance-oriented, the Corsaro Super line, launched six years ago with the 100 model, presented a new adaptation. Larger useable areas, including a well-equipped flybridge deck put a little more emphasis on the brand’s stylish interior and finishes, aiming at a very high-end cruising experience, while maintaining reliable zip and manoeuvrability as required.
Just premiered at the Boot Düsseldorf 2023 boat show, standout new features of new 102 Corsaro Super include a complete design makeover of the line’s superstructure, presenting a more contemporary, sporty concept with more generous dimensions. The yacht’s distinctive sleek silhouette now has an even more arrowhead-like profile.
Two new signature hallmarks for this model, introduced on the 102 Corsaro Super, include for the the exterior and within, a large window that runs along the length of the hull (see above and below), and the design of the hard top. Both create new modern, fluid and harmonious lines, giving life to a boat with a completely new image.
With a length overall of 30.2m and a maximum beam of 6.7m, this 102 is a collaboration between Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, founders of lauded Officina Italiana Design yacht design studio, with the Ferretti Group Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari, and its engineering department.
Another main new feature of this model is its redesigned aft area, creating a generous beach club that extends over more than 35sqm for more contact with the sea. The 15sqm swim platform has been lowered, for lateral access to the cockpit on either side and its oversized sun lounger hides the entrance to the garage area. On the starboard side, at the entrance of the salon’s main lounge, an outdoor staircase connects the cockpit area with the upper deck, and a large bar unit with an icemaker is located on the port side.
Afts at main and flybridge decks are more spacious on this revised design.
The Canaletto walnut wood in the salon is with its polished surfaces allow a play of reflections in conjunction with the light entering through the extensive windows. The ceilings and floors are light in colour – satin-finish titanium-effect lacquer and fine wool carpet respectively – contrasting with polished black Marquina marble accents repeated the entire length of the yacht, from bow to stern. In both offered salon layouts, living and dining areas are separated by a black or white marble frame with a high-polish finish extending up the walls.
Further forward is the spacious 11sqm galley, designed with a horseshoe layout to fully exploit the available space. The work top is white Corian and the cupboard doors are polished white lacquer (see below). The crew’s extending wood dining table is opposite the entrance, next to the door leading down to the lower deck and crew quarters.
On the left side of the salon is the large, owner’s suite, which is full-beam, extending forward into the bow. The forward and aft walls in this suite have additional insulation to guarantee maximum comfort, protecting against noise from both other areas and the galley. Against a backdrop of refined minimalism, in an interior décor that plays on pale and dark colours, is a kingsize bed, with a black leather headboard and sides. Opposite the bed is a black back-painted glass panel for a 43-inch television in a stainless-steel frame. As well as an airy en-suite bathroom, this cabin is completed by a spacious wardrobe at its entrance.
On the lower deck are three VIP double cabins and a guest cabin with twin beds, all with en-suite bathrooms and all also have wardrobes, in addition to storage space hidden under both the bed and the bedside tables.
The new silhouette has an even more arrowhead-like profile.
Aft, in addition to the engine room, the spacious garage can contain two water toys and a Williams 445L tender. The entire area is a perfect combination of comfort and practicality, with quick and easy procedures for launching and hauling up the tender and water toys.
The flybridge (see below), reached from the main deck via a steel staircase, can be furnished aft with sunbeds and freestanding furniture. Further forward, and completely covered by the hard top, are the cocktail area and the alfresco dining area. On the starboard side is the second helm station, which has an integrated Simrad NSO evo3S navigation system with a touchscreen display. The generous bow area, connected to the flybridge by a side walkway, offers 17sqm of space fitted out with a large sun pad and a forward-facing panoramic sofa.
The new Riva 102 Corsaro Super can be fitted with the standard pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96 engines, rated 2,435mhp each for top and cruising speeds of 26 and 23 knots respectively, or twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, with 2,638mhp, a top speed of over 28 knots and cruising speed of 24 knots. Besides the flybridge helm station, the cockpit also has a Twin Disc electro-hydraulic steering system with independent control of the rudders for sporty turn optimisation and a Simrad Command Loop navigation system.
Riva 102 Corsaro Super is fitted with automatic Hydrotab dynamic trim interceptors, for optimised fuel consumption, and to minimise rolling at anchor and under way, the yacht has Sleipner Vector Fins. Upon request, two Seakeeper 9 stabiliser systems can be installed for maximum comfort on board.
This new superyacht shows that Riva’s Corsaro Super line makeover has substance to back up its new looks.
