Phuket's top charter and brokerage companies will launch the Phuket Open Boat

Top Phuket yachting companies are collaborating on a new Phuket charter event, PHUKET OPEN BOAT, which will present a line-up of luxury yachts available in Phuket direct to related industry representatives and to prospective clients. The two-day event starts on November 11 at the Phuket Yacht Haven Marina.

Phuket Yacht Haven Marina, site of the new charter event, is adding 14 new superyacht berths

The charter companies involved are: Asia Global Yachting; Asia Marine; Asia Yacht Agency; Boat in the Bay; Boat Lagoon Yachting; Lee Marine; NEXT Yachting; Northrop & Johnson; and Simpson Yacht Charter.

“I set up a meeting with other charter companies and we decided on the spur of the moment to go ahead and do something together,” said Lies Sol, a charter manager for Northrop and Johnson Thailand.

Organisers say Thailand is about to open the whole country to travel after the successful Phuket Sand Box experiment.

A select group of Phuket’s luxury yacht and tourism industry professionals will have the opportunity to meet with the yachts’ charter managers and the crew onboard the yachts.

The list of yachts confirmed for display so far are:

Organisers wish to note that visitor numbers on board will be limited and that guests will be required to follow Covid safety guidelines. Attendance can be confirmed with Lies Sol at lies.sol@northropandjohnson.com, or with the preferred charter company which is involved with the event.

Thailand has been the focus of a growing attempt to build up a yacht and superyacht charter industry. Recent improvements in charter regulations have been encouraging for the industry.
