Boasting stunning clear water and magnificent marine life, the Maldives is already a regular stop for many superyachts – and two new marinas will boost the facilities and services for cruising visitors.
One of the world’s most iconic holiday hotspots, the Maldives is fast emerging as a world favourite for cruising yachts, with large Amels and Benetti builds among the superyachts to visit in 2018.
Located in the Indian Ocean southwest of Sri Lanka and southern India, the Maldives archipelago features over 1,100 islands grouped into 26 atolls, with only a small number inhabited. Formed from coral layers, the islands are flat – with the highest point rarely more than 6ft above sea level – and protected from monsoon devastation by barrier reefs.
