Renowned Italian jewellery house Buccellati has created the new Tahiti Picnic Baskets, in an insightful collaboration with designer Patricia Urquiola.

Every leisure vessel, from day cruisers to superyachts, should have a picnic basket, and now Buccellati and Patricia Urquiola of Studio Urquiola have created a range of truly luxurious renditions of this yachting classic.

These new baskets enrich the famous tableware and objects line Tahiti, conceived in the 1960s by the Maison and characterised by the seamless marriage of silver and bamboo, a singular combination that evokes the natural wonders of the Polynesian islands.

Stemming from an idea born during Milan Design Week 2022, in which Patricia Urquiola conceived an installation evoking the atmosphere of a picnic, the new picnic baskets expand the Tahiti Collection with a contemporary interpretation of informal conviviality, making them ideal for outdoor gatherings.

Externally, the baskets, which come in sets for two and four people as well as separate sets for coffee, tea and champagne, feature an interweaving of leather in the shades of beige and brown, while the internal structure is made of wood covered in a soft suede fabric.

The silverware included in the set belongs to the Buccellati Tahiti collection, while the porcelain items are part of the collection created in collaboration with Ginori 1975. Other additions include champagne flutes by Murano, napkin holders, corkscrews, napkins, salt and pepper shakers and a thermal bag.
