The latest build from the Taiwan yard is to launch in 2021
Taiwan’s Horizon Yachts has announced new details of a new Custom Collection (CC) 98 for an Australian owner. This new CC98, currently under construction and due to launch in early 2021, will be the owner’s fourth yacht from Horizon.
The owner, who enjoys remote cruising, has requested a touch-and-go helipad and a place to berth a submersible, both of which are remarkable features in a yacht of 32 metres length overall.
The entire superstructure will be built in carbon-fibre composite for the structural integrity required for the proposed helipad while reducing weight and increasing efficiency.
To accommodate either a submarine or a large inflatable of up to 7.3 metres length overall on the boat deck, the enclosed skylounge will be moved forward, with 4-tonne and 1.5-tonne lifting cranes added to manage the launch and retrieval of such large pieces of equipment.
This yacht also features a telescoping mast and radar arch to navigate the low bridges in Australia.
The new CC98 will have five staterooms including a full-beam, on-deck master suite. A large galley area is to be aft on the main deck, and the foredeck has been designed to accommodate a jacuzzi and large sunpad.
For long-range cruising, commercial-standard MTU 10V 2000 series engines have been chosen. Lithium-ion battery packs will also be installed to offset the house functions such as air conditioning and general electricity, while fuel capacity has been increased to 24,600 litres.
