Sanlorenzo reports three new yachts sold in the past week alone

On June 4, Italian yacht builder Sanlorenzo announced it had sold five yachts into Hong Kong in the last five months, with three of those yachts sold over the previous week. Sanlorenzo Asia, in partnership with Hong Kong-based Simpson Marine, has enjoyed a huge rebound in yachting activity in the SAR, as lockdowns are eased and prospective yacht owners show a desire to get out on the water.

Hong Kong Emerges As Top Market For Sanlorenzo 1

One industry insider said that “champagne bottles are being popped almost every day” in Hong Kong.

“Hong Kong has been a shining star with the sale of many distinctive Sanlorenzo yachts from across the range,” said Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia Sales Manager. “It’s wonderful to see owners enjoying their yachts in local waters during this time. 2020 will see a record number of deliveries in Asia and several yachts are already under construction for the spring and summer 2021.”

Hong Kong owners have also reportedly been using their yachts for overnighting rather than as day boats, as Covid-19 has begun to change the way clients use their boats. That Hong Kong clients may not be able to plan summer vacations overseas may have also led to a rise in demand ahead of the summer boating season.

Among the yachts sold in 2020 are the new 44Alloy superyacht, the SL102Asymmetric, the SX76 crossover and the SL78 and SL86 yachts.

Sanlorenzo Asia has opened a new flagship office in in Singapore, designed by Lissoni Associati.
