Polish hand-crafted motor yacht maker to be represented by Alexander Marine Australia in May launches

Alexander Marine Australia will host the launch of Galeon Motor Yachts in May, followed by the official Australian debut of the brand and two exemplary models at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, on May 23-26.

The first two models destined for the local market are the Galeon 460 Fly and 510 Skydeck, chosen for their brilliant features that perfectly suit the Australian boating lifestyle.

Made in Poland, with a reputation for unparalleled attention to detail, cutting edge technology and ground-breaking designs, Galeon has 30 years of experience in hand-crafted vessels.

Since commencing operations in 1982, Galeon has grown from a small facility in Straszyn outside Gdansk, Poland – which originally constructed sailboats for Beneteau and Jeanneau – to become Poland’s largest motor yacht builder with an output of 100 vessels per annum.

In the past few years, the business entered a new era, hailed as Galeon’s “third generation”, following a fruitful design partnership with UK-based Tony Castro Design Studio and the up-and-coming Roberto Curtò Design.

The highly contemporary, award-winning Galeon line of motor yachts has grown to comprise models from 30 to 78 feet and is considered class-leading across its range, offering unparalleled modern styling, innovation and cutting-edge marine technology in every vessel.

At the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2018, the Galeon 640 Fly was awarded the prestigious World Yacht Trophy for “Most Innovative Yacht” in the 60-80 feet category, while the 640 Fly and 650 Skydeck models took out the top prize in the Innovative Onboard Design Solution category at the November 2018 Marine Equipment Trade Show in Amsterdam for their “brilliantly social layouts with opening forward doors”.

At 14.35m/47ft, the Galeon 460 Fly includes a variety of ground-breaking innovations that are hallmarks of the brand, including an emphasis on a seamless flow of living spaces.

The Galeon 510 Skydeck, with a length overall of 16.2m (53-feet), shares the same hull as the highly-awarded 500 Fly, as well as all its legendary features, taking innovation one step further with its ingenious Skydeck design.

What sets the 510 Skydeck apart from anything in its class is its ability to combine the advantages of a bridge deck with the distinct, sporty look of a hardtop. The 510 Skydeck is the perfect choice for any buyer wishing for the convenience and simplicity that single level boating, with a strong preference for a flybridge.

Alexander Marine Australia Dealer Principal, Todd Holzapfel said “We are looking forward to introducing the Galeon 460 Fly and 510 Skydeck models to the Australian and NZ market this season. People will be amazed by the Australian-first innovative design features such as aft side fold out balconies and the glazing systems as featured on board each vessel.

“Galeon motor yachts are totally unique thanks to the design input of internationally-regarded naval architects and a talented design team. Galeon consists of over 1,400 skilled people who pride themselves on impeccable craftsmanship at every stage of production.

“We’re sure the Australian and New Zealand boating public will be just as impressed with Galeon range as we are when these first new models arrive on our shores.
