L'Escale is the only hotel in the Seychelles with a superyacht marina, and the resort's sleek architecture has been penned by renowned yacht design firm Winch Design

L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa

As of March 25, the Seychelles is now open quarantine-free to international visitors (provided they have a negative Covid test within 72 hours of arrival). Unsurprisingly, this tropical island nation is set to become a hotspot for tourists and yacht arrivals in the coming months.

It’s therefore ideal timing for the opening of L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa on mainland Mahé, which opened in January 2021 on the site of the former Wharf Hotel, after a three-year upgrade.

L’Escale is the only hotel in the Seychelles with a marina that can cater to superyachts.

A major part of the upgrade has been the introduction of a new superyacht marina, which has the capacity to berth 19 vessels to a maximum length of 100 metres, alongside state-of-the-art pontoons. The marina also offers facilities including power, water and black water discharge services on request.

The architecture and interior style of the resort is the work of London-based studio Winch Design, and offers touches of superyacht stylings, thanks to clean lines and nautical touches. It’s no surprise: Winch is well known for its work on sailing and motor superyachts with builders including CRN, Abeking & Rasmussen, Amels and Heesen. L’Escale is the architecture studio’s first foray into the luxury resort sector, and its first commercial project.

L’Escale resort has 25 rooms, all with king-sized beds, private balcony or deck. All suites and villas offer a rainfall shower and bathtub, and many suites also feature a private pool. The spa pool villas, the penthouse and the presidential villa boast two bedrooms with a separate living/dining area. There is also a restaurant and the Eden Holistic Spa, which includes a heated infinity pool, hammam, fitness centre and jacuzzi.
