Shanghai-based Wanda Yacht Management GM Leo Yang also becomes Burgess’ chief representative in China.

WANDA GROUP AND BURGESS PARTNERING IN CHINA TO DEVELOP SUPERYACHT SERVICES

Burgess has partnered in China with Wanda Yacht Management and Club Reign, both part of Wanda Hotels & Resorts. With that partnership, Shanghai-based Wanda Yacht Management GM Leo Yang also becomes Burgess’ chief representative in China. Yang will collaborate with Burgess’ core team of Asian and Chinese colleagues based in Hong Kong, Singapore and Monaco.

Yang has built extensive yachting experience since serving as Marketing Officer for China’s first America Cup challenge back in 2006. This was followed by various roles in Princess Yachts and several Chinese yachting brands before settling 10 years ago with Wanda as manager of the group’s fleet of yachts.

A feature of this new partnership is Wanda’s 33m (108ft) Sunseeker RUI HUA 2, which is now available for charter in Shanghai. RUI HUA 2 is available to cruise the Hangpu River and to enjoy the skyline of the Bund and Pudong while sharing a Michelin private dinner with family, friends or business associates. Burgess will also use RUI HUA 2 as a marketing platform to showcase the yachting lifestyle and its services in the heart of Shanghai.

In addition to being the exclusive international marketing agent for RUI HUA 2, Burgess also becomes the yachting partner for Wanda’s Club Reign, a membership club with operations in 10 top cities in China, all located within Wanda’s hotels.

“Developing our brand in China is a long-term game and we are delighted to do so in partnership with Wanda Group, one of China’s most prestigious corporate brands associated with yachting,” says Burgess’ chairman in Asia, Jean-Marc Poullet.
