The 47.5m superyacht exuding brightness, lightness and Turkish craftsmanship has set sail from Istanbul heading to the South of France
Bilgin Yachts’ latest superyacht Bilgin 156-II, named Lilium, has set sail from Istanbul to arrive to the South France for the coming yacht shows. The 47.5-metre yacht will first appear at the Cannes Yachting Festival on September 10-15 and continue on its way to Monaco Yacht Show on September 25-28.
Launched in April 2019, Lilium is a stunning representative of the 47.5 metre motoryacht series of the shipyard following Starburst-III (ex-Nerissa) which was highly acclaimed during her premier in Monaco Yacht Show of 2017 while Cannes Yachting Show will present a preview of the yacht. Bilgin Yachts will attend the boat shows together with IYC Luxury Yacht Sales & Charter as this is arranged with a contract.
“It is always exciting to see the end result of our designs. After the success of Nerissa, we can’t wait to see how Lilium will affect the ones who see her. She is a proud example of today’s globally recognized Turkish craftsmanship.” says Emrecan Özgün, Founder and CEO of Istanbul-based design office Unique Yacht Design. And the Bilgin Yacht Design Team wanted to create a peaceful brightness in living areas: “We tried to imagine even the tiniest details through the look of a kaleidoscope. It was a challenging process to create luminous effect while deciding on proportion of each material.”
Lilium is named after the beautiful white flower as its interior has light colors that highlight the modern lines of the yacht. She has slight differences than her sistership ex-Nerissa. Besides having bright colors in the living areas, Lilium‘s main difference from her sistership ex-Nerissa is certainly her galley. The layout changed in order to make it easy for the crew to move around without coming accross with the guests. There is a pantry located between the galley and the living room. The galley’s one of the significant feature is its island. This way, the crew will work more productively, particularly when there is an invitation on the yacht.
The interior spaces ensures the best comfort while not compromising from functionality and the joy of sailing. The color palette mostly includes white and golden touches. Brass helps to create the warm atmosphere as a material. The lighting also enchances the relaxing atmosphere in the interior. The staircase reflects the daylight from the above Jacuzzi, while the lights specially designed by Bilgin Design Team are the result of the inspiration from nature. One owner’s cabin as well as four guest cabins have special design features such as the headboards and lighting, while the marble in the bathroom of each cabin breaks the monochromatism and adds luxury feeling to the area.
Lilium is powered by twin 1,475hp MTU 12V2000 M72 diesel engines and reaches till the top speed of 16 knots and a maximum range in excess of 4,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 12 knots. The 48-metre yacht has been in French Riviera since the end of August 2019.
Alongside this 48-metre yacht, Bilgin Yachts has currently built three units of the 80-metre Bilgin 263 series. The first hull of Bilgin 263 will be available for delivery in the first half of 2020, while the second hull is planned to be launched towards the end of the year. The third unit of the series is being produced alongside of the shipyard’s 85-metre superyacht which up to date.
