BO101, sold to world champion offshore powerboat racer Tim Ciasulli, is due for delivery in summer 2020
Benetti books another order on the US market with the sale of the first Oasis 40M BO101. With a fibreglass hull and superstructure and a gross tonnage of 385 tonnes, it is currently being outfitted at the Livorno shipyard with completion planned for summer 2020.
On July 26, at Benetti’s Livorno shipyard, the owner of giga yacht FB275 set sail on his 108-metre vessel while the first Oasis 40M’s fibreglass hull arrived for the start of outfitting operations, in a perfectly synchronised handover.
BO101 is the first Oasis 40M, a 40.80-metre yacht with a maximum beam of 8.5 metres, a draft of 2.14 metres and a gross tonnage of 385 tonnes, and has been sold to an American owner, who was represented by Merle Wood & Associates, a broker based in Fort Lauderdale in the United States.
This marks another success for Benetti in the Americas where, after the recent sales of FB278 67-metre custom build Project Fenestra, multiple award-winning 69-metre Spectre and 49-metre custom yacht Eladrea+, the brand continues to forge ahead, drawing on ‘Made in Italy’ excellence to offer guarantees of originality and quality at the very highest level.
“I’ve been going fast my whole life,” says the new owner Tim Ciasulli, former world champion offshore powerboat racer with four World Speed Records. “So when it came time to build a yacht, I wanted to collaborate with a shipyard that shared the same core values that my wife and I believe in: integrity, passion and accountability! Plus, we didn’t want – another – job, so it had to be quick, easy and fun. We expeditiously negotiated a great deal, and in just two meetings, nailed down the equipment, interior decor and colors…just the way we wanted! They are real professionals, at every level, and made the yacht buying experience a really positive life adventure!”
“Size does matter, and nobody has got the yacht building process more streamlined than Benetti”, says Captain Mike Wyer, the couple’s owner representative.
“Benetti is the reliable Italian builder to deliver the yachting dream” says John Jacobi, Broker at Merle Wood & Associates “This project will be the envy of most. Undoubtedly, many others will be inspired to build their very own Oasis.
The assembly has already been completed of the BO101’s fibreglass hull and superstructure, involving a team of experts who worked to get everything ready in time to start outfitting on July 26, a process that will continue until the delivery in summer 2020.
Oasis 40M is an innovative and ambitious yacht, the fruit of collaboration between Benetti and UK-based firm RWD, working in liaison with Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, the top New York firm commissioned to design the interiors.
On board this yacht, the owner and his guests will enjoy wide, welcoming spaces characterised by a design that is both smart and sophisticated. The high ceilings, the special arrangement of the indoor and outdoor spaces, and the extensive glazed surfaces all contribute to this yacht’s spectacular appearance, while the unusual layout features lateral stern platforms that can be open out with great ease to facilitate access to the sea and an extended beach area, complete with an infinity pool practically at water level.
The shipyard’s experts and designers from UK-based firm RWD worked in partnership to develop a high-performance model inspired by a lifestyle concept never catered to before, while remaining loyal to Benetti’s high standards.
