Beneteau fires the starting gun at an online version of Port Ginesta
Beneteau fires the starting gun today at a virtual version of the Beneteau Cup regatta. The free online strategic game, which is open to the public, takes place on the Virtual Regatta platform, which has been a hit with sailing enthusiasts around the world during coronavirus lockdown.
The race takes in a 500nm virtual loop around the Balearic Islands, starting and ending at Port Ginesta in Spain. E-sailors must plot the best course while navigating weather systems to get the best out of their boat.
It’s an opportunity to take the helm of the latest boat in the Oceanis line, the Oceanis 40.1. The 40-foot cruiser, which has a new hull designed by Marc Lombard, follows in the wake of the award-winning Oceanis 51.1.
