Asia-Pacific Boating, the leading publication for boat owners in greater China and Southeast Asia, has relaunched its website in the first major overhaul of its online presence in nearly ten years.

In addition to yacht news and reviews, the new website now features a dedicated section on ocean conservation called Blue Planet – a first for any luxury yachting magazine– reflecting a new editorial direction at the 44-year-old publication. The relaunched website also features new sales and charter sections and will offer a marine industry services directory, allowing marine-related businesses of any kind to be listed on the site. When completed, this directory will be the first of its kind in Asia.

“We wanted to create a website that is in line with the times, as ultra-high net worth individuals, in Asia and around the world, increasingly focus their attention on ESG investing, social impact investing and green technology,” said Grace Chien, co-founder of Two2 Ltd., the new publisher of Asia-Pacific Boating and sister title AsiaSpa. “News about yachting developments will appeal to readers in Hong Kong and the region, while subjects around Asian marine tourism, ocean conservation and green tech in boating, will appeal to a global audience.”

The relaunch of Asia-Pacific Boating online comes at a significant time in the yachting industry, one of the few industries to see a significant uptick in revenue amid Covid-19 restrictions, as wealthy individuals have used their boats as a social distancing measure. In Hong Kong, several dealers have reported their best months ever for yacht sales in June and July.

“Prospective yacht owners were already asking for more independence and range, even before Covid, as we see numerous established brands that once focused exclusively on looks and speed, are now producing yachts with extremely efficient hulls and the capacity to travel thousands of miles, not hundreds,” said Chien.
