Megayacht is available for charter in Western Med

Abeking & Rasmussen recently handed over the 68m megayacht Soaring to her Owner in the presence of her Captain and crew, as well as the project managers and Owner’s management team at the shipyard in Lemwerder, Germany.

Initially, it was the Owner ́s wish to celebrate this day together with family and friends, and everyone involved in the build of this custom-made megayacht, which is modern yet timeless. Due to the extraordinary challenges the world is facing at the moment, the delivery event was held on a far smaller scale.

Whilst flexibility is one of the yard ́s key corporate values, the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic has called upon everyone at Abeking & Rasmussen to adapt and adjust their proven paths with much more versatility than ever before, with final acceptances as well as various closing meetings with internal and external experts had to be conducted via alternative means where possible.

At the yard ́s premises, the management has successfully implemented preventive measures to reduce human contacts as far as possible in order to protect the entire staff, sub-suppliers and business partners: work schedules were split into a strictly separated two-shift system, extensive hygiene measures were organised, protective face masks have been handed over to the entire workforce, and mobile working possibilities were set up successfully.

Till von Krause, Sales Director Yacht, was well impressed with the flexibility of the numerous sub-suppliers.

“With many of these partners, we have already worked together for many years or even decades. We trust each other very much,” says von Krause. “Many individual work flows are well known by everyone involved. This has made it extremely easier to implement all these inevitable protective measures. And therefore the scheduled delivery date of Soaring was never at risk of being delayed.”

During the very last stages of the new build, Andy Tree of Superyacht Technical Services steered the delivery process of this 1,500GT yacht with the entire project team.

In addition to being a private yacht for her Owner, charter guests on Soaring can venture out to the most beautiful destinations worldwide thanks to a close collaboration with Daniel Küpfer of Zurich-based Ocean Independence, the appointed yacht manager and charter central agent. The weekly charter rate for Soaring is 800,000 euros (summer low) / 850,000 euros (summer high).

Named after the majestic flight of an eagle, the yacht is a custom-made floating home that leaves nothing to be desired by her Owner. The Bremen-based studio Focus Yacht Design is responsible for the interior and exterior design.

Soaring can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 staterooms. The master suite is on the aft upper deck with sliding doors onto the private Owner’s aft deck with lounging areas. A library room is on the Owner’s deck forward with sensational views. The other five guest staterooms are on the main deck.

The lower deck swim platform provides a spacious area beside the water for sunbathing, or enjoying the many water toys and tenders that include a 9m Compass limousine tender, a 7.5m Pascoe open tender, two rescue tenders, a pair of Jet Skis, two Aqua Bikes, Seabobs, SUP, kayaks, and Sea Pool gym equipment.

The yacht also features a gym, Zero Speed stabilisers, swimming pool / deck Jacuzzi, sauna / steam room, and a wide array of leisure and entertainment facilities.
